FAQ
Each lamp is wired to order for its destination market, that is stated plainly because it is the question that matters with lighting. Your quotation confirms the electrical specification for your country: plug type, voltage compatibility, switch arrangement and the lamp-holder standard your bulbs will fit, with componentry appropriate to the destination’s requirements. What we deliberately do not do is publish a blanket certification claim covering every jurisdiction; compliance marks and any market-specific requirements are confirmed per order at quotation, and where a destination has requirements we cannot meet, we say so before you commit. Practically: name your country in the enquiry, and the lamp that arrives plugs in and works, with the right plug.
The reference designs pair the stone body with a fabric drum shade proportioned to it, and both halves are adjustable at order: shade diameter, height and fabric tone can be varied on the drawing, or the lamp can be supplied base-only for a shade you already own, send its fitter type and dimensions and we confirm compatibility. Bulbs use standard lamp-holder sizes for your market (stated on the quotation), and LED filament bulbs suit these lamps particularly well: warm light, negligible heat near the shade, and long life in a fitting you would rather not re-lamp often. Dimmer compatibility is a bulb-and-switch question we specify together if you want stepless evening light.
Yes, the stone is the stability. A shaped stone body puts real mass at the lamp’s base, so the daily interactions that walk lightweight lamps across a table, switching, cord tugs, dusting around it, leave these planted. The bases are finished flat and pair with felt pads that protect the table beneath and let the lamp rotate without scratching (worth using: the lamp is heavy enough to mark a honed top if dragged bare). Cords exit discreetly and should be routed so they cannot be snagged into a pull, the one force that moves any lamp. For bedside use, the mass is a quiet luxury: the lamp never shifts when you find the switch in the dark.
Yes, the body is a carved stone component and follows the same material logic as the furniture. The reference pieces show green-veined stone in a brass frame because the pairing photographs irresistibly, but travertine bodies read warm and architectural, white marbles cool and classical, dark stones dramatic under a pale shade, and the frame metal and shade fabric are chosen with the stone so the composition holds. Matched pairs for bedsides are cut from coordinated material on request, exactly as with side tables. One practical note: strongly translucent stones are specified with the light path in mind, since a bright bulb close to thin onyx will glow through it, an effect to choose deliberately, not discover.
